Torgoyle Bridge - Building Starts

From The Sotsman, April 2nd 1885.

Torgoyle Bridge.—We are happy to understand that the building of the large bridge over the river Morriston, at Torgoyle, is now in progress. The expense being within a trifle of £2000, is to be defrayed jointly by the Parliamentary Commissioners and the county of Inverness. The ceremony of laying the foundation stone, on the 25th current, was celebrated with all due honour. When completed, this bridge will secure a safe and permanent communication from the low country on the East Coast to the Western Highlands and Isles.
